We’ve been working on a major refit and getting “Saboutime” ready for service. As you can see, the teak’s been all stripped and varnished. We’re letting the varnish cure, and then we’ll apply a protective coat of Bristol two-part epoxy to protect against the tropical sun. In the mean time, the decks and cockpit area have all had fresh paint. The next step is to start putting her back together and tune the rigging. What a pretty girl! Below decks, we’ve cleaned and refurbished all the cushions. We’re hoping to finish up on the complete rebuild of the head, holding tank and plumbing this week. After that, we’ll finish with a good cleaning and a final coat of varnish or two for the cabin sole. At this point, we think we’ll be taking passengers on or about May first. Here are some pictures taken Friday, April 18th.
